Loaded for 100-140 Kgs
The double drum is a set of rollers that the wheelchair rides on for an extended period of time. There are slats on the drums that simulate pavement irregularities.
Tested for Endurance- 2,00,000 cycles
Loaded for 125 Kgs
Tested for endurance- the drop simulates the wheelchair descending a curb.
6,666 cycles from 50 +/- 5 mm
Armrest and footrest of the wheelchair are subjected to loads from pneumatic cylinders and tested for resistance to downward and upward forces.
Tipping Lever and Hand grip tested for resistance
Loaded for 125 Kgs
Determines stability on a slope in forward, rearward and side facing positions. The chair is placed on a platform that can be inclined. The ramp is gradually raised until the chair becomes unstable. The angle at which instability occurs is recorded. The test is performed with the chair facing uphill, downhill and sideways.
Parking brake tested- facing slope and down slope
The purpose of this test is to check if the tested sample meets the dynamic tests requirements of the NF ISO 7176-19:2014 and the part 7.4 of the NF EN 12183:2014.
The wheelchair is fixed on the sled in the direction of the acceleration with a suitable dummy on it. The wheelchair is secured in position and the dummy is restrained by a WTORS conform with ISO 10542-1 as for energy absorbption. The sled is submitted to a pulse of acceleration as described in ISO 7176-19 in order to reach a velocity change of 48 Km/h. Observations and measurements are done during and after the test with high speed cameras, in order to assess the performance of the wheelchair and the restraint systems.
This European Standard specifies a test method to assess the ignitability of material combinations, such as covers and fillings used in upholstered seating when subjected to a small flame as an ignition source.
